Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara – Welcome to the Wild

Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Nairobi to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve, passing through the dramatic landscapes of the Great Rift Valley. Upon arrival, check-in at Sopa Lodge Masai Mara and enjoy a delicious lunch.

Spend your afternoon relaxing before heading out on your first exciting evening game drive. Masai Mara is teeming with wildlife—over 450 species have been recorded here! Expect to encounter lions, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, and more. If you’re traveling during the migration season, you might even witness the Great Wildebeest Migration, one of nature’s most astonishing spectacles.

Day 2: Full Day in Masai Mara – Game Drives & Cultural Experiences

Enjoy a full day of game viewing in the Masai Mara with morning and afternoon drives. This is your chance to spot Africa’s “Big Five” and an array of other wildlife in their natural habitat.

Between the drives, you may opt to visit a traditional Masai village (at an extra cost) where you’ll interact with the local community, learn about their customs, and experience their vibrant culture.

For the adventurous, a hot air balloon safari is also available at an additional cost. Glide above the Mara at sunrise and enjoy a champagne breakfast in the wild—a truly magical experience.

Day 3: Masai Mara to Nairobi – A Journey Back to the City

After breakfast, take a leisurely morning village tour before departing for Nairobi. Arrive in the city around lunchtime and check in at your hotel. The rest of the day is free for relaxation or optional local exploration.

Day 4: Nairobi to Arusha – Cross into Tanzania

After breakfast at the hotel, board a scheduled bus to Arusha, Tanzania. The journey includes crossing the Namanga border, where you’ll clear immigration formalities. Continue on to Arusha, arriving by early afternoon, and transfer to your hotel for check-in.

Day 5: Arusha to Tarangire National Park – Land of Giants

Start your Tanzanian safari with a drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its massive baobab trees, vast grasslands, and large elephant herds.

Enjoy a full-day game drive through this underrated gem, home to a diverse range of animals including lions, leopards, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, and more than 550 species of birds.

Day 6: Tarangire to Serengeti – Into the Endless Plains

Depart early and journey through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with an optional stop to admire the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater and nearby Masai villages.

Continue to the legendary Serengeti National Park, famous for its expansive savannahs and abundance of wildlife. The Seronera Valley is particularly rich in resident animals and predators, offering exceptional game viewing.

Day 7: Serengeti to Ngorongoro – Wildlife Encounters En-Route

After a morning game drive in the Serengeti, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy a scenic en-route game drive, spotting wildlife such as antelopes, giraffes, zebras, and baboons along the way.

Arrive at your campsite near the Ngorongoro Crater in the evening.

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha – Final Safari & Farewell

After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day crater tour. Often called the 8th Wonder of the World, the crater is a wildlife haven with the possibility of spotting the endangered black rhino, massive elephant bulls, lions, wildebeest, hippos, and flamingos.

In the afternoon, return to Arusha for an overnight stay or transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK) for your departure.
